Challenges & Solutions:
Search Inc., is a not for profit adult education organization that needed a larger facility to accommodate its growing enrollment. The building at 625 Slawin Court in Mount Prospect would be the new location, but not without significant interior renovation.
At 37,000 square feet, the interior of the building was renovated to incorporate new teaching pods, new classrooms, a new gallery space and performing arts area, a new training kitchen, and a new entry for their consumers. A “New Orleans Market” aesthetic is incorporated into the design and layout of the spaces making the facility feel more familiar and friendly to the consumers. Warm colors, simple “faux” treatments and a street-scape feel make the spaces come alive.
